World Athletics Championships 2023 Javelin Throw Final: With a big throw of 88.17 meters in the men’s javelin final on Sunday, Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra made history once more by becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal at the World Athletics Championships.
Kishore Jena (84.77 meters) and DP Manu (84.14 meters) were the other two Indians to finish in the top eight, a first for the country. Never before completed three Indians finish in top eight of an occasion in the Big showdowns.

In the men’s 4x400m relay, Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal Variyathodi, and Rajesh Ramesh placed fifth. In the mean time, Parul Chaudhary completed twelfth in the ladies 3000 meter steeplechase last with a public record of 9 minutes and 15.32 seconds.
